  • What good things have happened to you lately?

    I like this question.

I ran into an ex-student working at Starbucks and she said that I actually inspired her to major in English & Linguistics.

Another thing was when I was feeling pretty crappy about teaching.  One of my friends that I work with at the Faire and that helped me coreograph the dancing for my schools Elizabethan dinner reminded me that while we were leaving one of the performances the choir students huzzahed me all the way out of the auditorium in unison.

It’s nice to be appreciated sometimes.

  • nice answer to the featured question! :)

I was reading through your past entires and became a little concerned–I’ve been considering majoring in English and then going on to teaching (because I’ve had such remarkable english teachers)…you say that’s not a good idea?

anyway, I just wanted to let you know that teachers DO make a difference for some “lazy seniors”–I can honestly say that I look forward to (almost all of) my classes every day, because the teachers are so engaging.  like your former student, there are still some of us out there whose teachers have made a major impact on our lives!
